ABOUT CHRISTOPHER D. LEWIS
I started out in the arts, but these days I spend my time deep in the mechanics of higher education. I’ve learned that you can\'t have engaging, creative teaching without rigorous standards backing it up. My job is to bridge the gap between higher education governance, leadership and regulation to map it all to what happens in the lecture theatre and align to the lived student experience.In my current role, I lead across the intersection of Creative Arts, Technology, and Engineering. My focus is on enhancing the metrics that actually matter - retention, progression, and closing awarding gaps. Whether it’s achieving top-tier national rankings in Computing or reshaping international partnerships, I look for data-driven solutions that never lose sight of the human element.Beyond my institutional work, my role as an OfS Lead Assessor allows me to chair reviews that safeguard the standards of the UK sector. It is a position that requires a sharp eye for detail and a deep commitment to the integrity of the degree.I’m always very pleased to connect with peers both nationally and internationally. I am also always very interested to discuss ways of using robust governance to drive genuine innovation in the student experience.
