I began my business career in South Africa as a gold analyst in 1980. In 1983 I joined Dean Witter, Reynolds Inc. in New York and became involved with the nascent Managed Futures Industry and the Alternative Investment Industry.In 1988 I became a Director of AHL Asset Management Ltd in London, one of the worlds first truly systematic CTA’s. After the sale of this firm to MAN International in 1990, I became Head of Managed Futures and Options for a major U.S. investment bank in London. I became Managing Director of Tamiso & Co. LLC in New York during 1993. At Tamiso I was responsible for FX investment products, research and trading. I substantially enlarged the firm’s involvement in algorithmic FX trading. In Tamiso and Man International established a joint venture based upon the FX trading system of Tamiso.Between and the present, I originated and developed a number of FX based trading strategies utilising a unique, matrix-based approach to investment founded upon risk equivalency. –This includes the Insch Kintore strategy and also the Kintillo and Buchan strategies. I have been actively involved in the research and development of algorithmic trading strategies for over 30 years.During those years I have worked alongside many of the worlds’ biggest and best known banks and investment management groups on a number of investment strategies, structures and investment products. I attended The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in 1975 and was commissioned into the 1st Bn The Gordon Highlanders. I left the Army in 1979.
