ABOUT CHRISTOPHER WIDENS.
I have worked with international marketing and various startups in the medical field for more than 4 years. Having built a sustainable network within hospitals throughout the surgical departments as well as in the purchasing units allowed me to introduce innovative technologies like a transapical access and closure device or the first anatomically shaped aortic annuloplasty ring in various institutions in Europe. Especially the interaction with international partners, mostly from the US, is something I highly enjoy due to my international education background. Exchanging knowledge about the latest trends and technologies, not only in the cardio vascular space, attracts my attention. Being directly involved in IT implementation projects within different cardiology departments in Germany and Austria unlocks additional network benefits as well as having hands-on experience in complex project management scenarios. Orchestring departments within a set timeframe as well as manufacturers, is a great experience and surely a tremendous challenge. Holding a bachelor degree in health economics and a masters in management and leadership from Southampton University allows me to reflect on multiple challenges that I faced within the above stated situations and presumably in the future.
