About Christopher Webb

I love working in the built environment sector, and helping create places and spaces which are happier, healthier, more equitable and better for our planet. I have 20+ years\' varied experience, and I am excited to spend the next 20 years making positive change.I started my career as an Environmental Consultant focusing upon brownfield land redevelopment, real estate risk and opportunities, and ISO14001 EMS. I then moved to become lead Environment Manager at Westfield, helping to implement the sustainable design and construction strategy on the £1.6bn Stratford City Project, which formed the gateway to the London 2012 Olympic Park. Next I worked in a lead environmental role coordinating the design, enabling and build of the £1.5bn London Gateway Port, Rail & Logistics Park project; one of the world’s largest, most complex and advanced sustainability programmes. Having held senior roles in Multiplex and Arcadis, I now head-up sustainability at tp bennett\'s brilliant architecture, design and planning practice. Community projects that I am particularly proud of include: leading local volunteers and businesses to design and refurbish a local community hub in Hackney; helping develop a wildlife reserve and viewing / information centre on a former landfill site overlooking a wetlands on the Thames Estuary, and working with the Mayor to install a ‘toilet twinning’ initiative in my local town.I have dual US/ UK Citizenship
