About Christopher V. Cosgriff

I am a physician in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow mentored by Chloe Villani at the MGH Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. My life’s focus is in providing exceptional care for the critically ill, performing translational research to advance our ability to do this, and training the next generation of physicians to carry this mission forward. I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine, and have completed advanced education and training in statistics, epidemiology, causal inference, machine learning, immunology, and bioinformatics. Clinically, I work primarily as a Medical Intensivist, and my research leverages high-dimensional multiomic approaches to characterize the molecular epidemiology and pathophysiology of critical illness syndromes. The goal of this work is the identification of treatment responsive features, the elucidation of the fundamental biology underlying these features, and ultimately the development of precision therapeutic strategies for patients with critical illness.
