Provides technical expertise to team members, develops, implements, and manages the day to day functions of Emergency Management, Safety/Environment of Care programs, and monitors Life Safety program within the hospital/healthcare setting including freestanding Emergency Department.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:• General Safety Program Responsibilities:o Provides general safety consultation & technical services to all areas of the hospital.o Provides safety incident, accident investigation and corrective action.o Chairs the facility EOC/Safety Committee & Workplace Violence Committeeo Manages the EOC team surveillance rounds for assigned locations.o Performs Workplace Violence Prevention assessments for the assigned locations. • Hazardous Materials Program Responsibilities:o Manages and coordinates training and readiness for hospital HAZMAT/WMD decontamination teams.o Provides leadership and technical expertise regarding hazardous materials and waste.• Fire/Life Safety Program Responsibilities:o Coordinates and manages fire extinguisher inspection, maintenance, and testing.o Coordinates, manages, and evaluates fire drills at the facilities.o Serves as a technical consultant and review Interim Life Safety Measures.• Emergency Management Program Responsibilities:o Coordinates and oversees hospital emergency preparedness/management activities.o Chairs the Emergency Management Committee for assigned facilities.o Facilitates emergency preparedness planning, coordination, and implementation with hospital leadership. o Participates in and/or conducts critiques of emergency preparedness drills and actual plan implementations at the facility, system and community levels.o Plans and coordinates specialized emergency preparedness training for team members.• Other Responsibilities:o Develops and maintains a working relationship with various regulatory agencies.o Participates in preparation for Regulatory Agencies readiness.
