About Christopher Taylor
I have worked in the law enforcement profession for ten years. I currently serve the Duval community as a detective with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit. In April 2014, I began my law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff with the Flagler County Sheriff\'s Office. During my tenure with the sheriff\'s office, I achieved the 2015 Distinguished Service Medal and received numerous commendations throughout my career. In 2015, I joined the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, where I served in numerous capacities as an operator on entry and perimeter teams during high-risk arrest and search warrants. I competed in the International SWAT round-up in Dubai, placing 22nd in the world (2019). I continued my law enforcement journey by becoming a Field Training Officer and a Police Athletic League Wrestling Coach in 2017, where I trained numerous new deputies and taught wrestling to middle school children at Buddy Taylor Middle School.(In 2010, I was Allen D. Nease High School\'s first Wrestling State Champion). In 2018, I became a Defensive Tactics Instructor and assisted with drafting a new curriculum for new and current deputies\' yearly training. I became a part of Flagler\'s new tactical patrol unit, called Problem Area Crime Enforcement (P.A.C.E.), and worked several undercover operations to enforce criminal law and deter criminal activity within Flagler County related to narcotics, warrants, and violent crime. In 2019, I left the Flagler County Sheriff\'s Office in good standing and joined the Jacksonville Sheriff\'s Office. I started my tenure as a Police Officer on the west side of Duval County (Zone 4) and served the community by solving criminal investigations and arresting numerous criminals for drug-related offenses and outstanding warrants. In 2020, I became a Defensive Tactics Instructor for JSO and worked in a tactical patrol position (X-Ray) for approximately three years while in Zone 4. I continued training new officers as a Field Training Officer for JSO. In 20••••22, I achieved three Officer of the Month awards. I started a new wrestling program for current officers and taught basic fundamentals to help enhance their skills as police officers. In mid-2023, I was selected to join the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit at JSO and currently serve the community as a detective. During my tenure, I have drafted and executed numerous arrest and search warrants through various investigations related to robberies, weapons offenses, and other crimes of violence.
