ABOUT CHRISTOPHER NICOLAYSEN
Even before pursuing a career in law, I was drawn to working closely with people. My first path led me to become a teacher, where I gained a deep understanding of family dynamics. In 2005, captivated by Colorado’s natural beauty and vibrant lifestyle, my family and I decided to make it our forever home. My legal journey began at the Denver Sturm College of Law, where I clerked for the Honorable Judge David L. Shakes of the Colorado 4th Judicial District. Under his mentorship, I honed strong legal research and writing skills, which have proved invaluable. Before co-founding Springs Law Group, I worked at two law firms in Colorado Springs, focusing on family law and estate planning. These experiences allowed me to manage cases from intake to mediation to final hearings, deepening my understanding of legal advocacy and client relations. However, I soon realized my passion was in personal injury, where I could help those injured through no fault of their own receive the compensation they deserve. Today, I head a practice handling various personal injury matters, including auto, bicycle, pedestrian, and trucking accidents.I believe in being transparent and honest with clients, walking alongside them so they feel supported and informed every step of the way. These values are deeply instilled in my legal team. Through hard work and dedication, we’ve earned a reputation for seeing issues from multiple perspectives and developing creative solutions to complex problems. We bring care and empathy to every case, and I take pride in having created a firm culture where making a difference in people’s lives, inside and outside the firm, is our highest priority. What drives me now is the opportunity to be the visionary of a practice that sees clients through challenging times while training other lawyers to take on the same role in their law firms. My problem-solving approach and effective management strategies have consistently led to positive outcomes for our clients and team. Balancing work with life and savoring personal moments keeps us grounded, and I’m committed to maintaining a healthy, collaborative work environment where mutual respect thrives.Being part of a team, whether in an academic or legal setting or advising attorneys starting or wanting to optimize their solo practices, has always been rewarding. I’m also especially lucky to work alongside my wife, Gretchen, our case manager at Springs Law Group. In my free time, I enjoy playing games and watching movies with my family, catching concerts with Gretchen, and staying active by going to the gym.
