Christopher is General Counsel at SPF Investment Management, L.P, an investment management firm focused on the structured credit market.Immediately prior to joining SPF, Christopher was Associate General Counsel at New York Life Insurance Company where he provided legal advice and support to the Structured Products and High-Yield Credit (CLO) teams within NYL Investors LLC, an asset management subsidiary with total fixed income AUM of more than $120 billion.Immediately prior to joining NYL, Christopher was Vice President and Investments Counsel in the Investments division of Genworth where he provided legal advice and analysis in connection with the management of its $60+ billion investment portfolio. He was part of a small legal team that supported the entire Investments division (including credit analysis, portfolio management, trading, operations, risk, tax and compliance) with a focus on finance, derivatives and structured products.Christopher provided primary legal coverage for domestic and cross-border financings, including secured, unsecured, structured and project finance/infrastructure transactions. He analyzed financing documentation (and covenants), including note purchase agreements, credit agreements, indentures, intercreditor agreements and collateral security documents and reviewed related amendment and waiver requests. He also negotiated derivatives and other trading documentation, including ISDA master agreements, credit support annexes (“CSAs”) and master repurchase agreements (“MRAs”). Christopher also advised the derivatives front office regarding Dodd-Frank related issues, including clearing.
