PORT is a Philadelphia- and Chicago-based public realm and urban design consultancy comprising landscape architects, architects, urban designers, and planners. Our practice model is based on the belief that the public realm represents the most essential spaces of the contemporary city. By helping communities reimagine and shape these spaces, our work is actively creating the physical venues in which society and culture evolve and progress. For PORT, the public realm is the closest thing we have to equitable and democratic space within the contemporary city. PORT’s projects principally reside within two broad project types. The first is developing strategies for the management and occupation of large and complicated urban territories. The second is executing transformational physical design interventions, at the human scale, in order to create generous spaces of public collection.
