   Key responsibilities:Developing, coordinating, reviewing, and maintaining the short-term recovery plan in compliance with state and federal guidelines.Updating and maintaining the Horry County Emergency Management COOP (Continuity of Operations Plan) and COG (Continuity of Government) plan to adhere to state and federal guidelines.Managing emergency management grants related to mitigation and recovery planning.Acting as a liaison with local, regional, state, and federal agencies to ensure the maintenance and sustainability of the mitigation plan, recovery plan, COOP, and COG plans.Coordinating with relevant departments to facilitate Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, and other FEMA-related programs and processes.Staffing the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) Liaison position in the Horry County EOC and overseeing preparedness, planning, training, and response activities within the section.Developing, coordinating, reviewing, and maintaining annexes and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) of the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, following state and federal guidelines.Developing, coordinating, reviewing, and maintaining the THIRA (Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), capability assessment, and gap analysis.Serving as the liaison with the local VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster) and attending meetings as necessary.Delivering presentations on emergency management, preparedness, and hazards to various audiences, including residents, community organizations, and businesses.Acting as the on-call Emergency Management representative, providing the 24-hour emergency point of contact on a rotating basis, and responding to local emergency and non-emergency events related to public safety outside of business hours, as needed.
