About Christopher Keon

With over 25 years of work experience in various fields, I am a versatile and dynamic leader who oversees the data-driven operational, training, and logistical services for unmanned systems. I leverage my skills in unmanned systems and operational planning to ensure the quality and efficiency of our products and solutions, as well as to support our clients and partners in the public safety and commercial sectors. I also have a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Engineering Management, which enables me to apply strategic and analytical thinking to complex and challenging problems. In addition, I have a strong background in the military and law enforcement, having served as a police officer, Homeland Security Task Force Officer a small unmanned aerial systems instructor, a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear specialist, and a damage controlman. These experiences have taught me the values of teamwork, discipline, integrity, and service, which I bring to my current role and organization. My mission is to use my diverse and extensive expertise to deliver innovative and impactful solutions that enhance the capabilities and security of our customers and stakeholders.

   Jun 2015 — Present

   Founded and lead SSI, a technology and public safety solutions company specializing in unmanned systems program development, emergency operations support, and advanced training for law enforcement and commercial industries. Provided UAS program planning and implementation support to multiple agencies, including the Wake, Alamance, and Robeson County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Pembroke Police Department. Designed a cost-effective Aerostat ISR system for large-scale event security and developed the only OSHA/NFPA-compliant VideoRay Pro 4 ROV training program sponsored by Emergency Response Diving International (ERDI). Trained and certified members of the Charleston, SC Police Dive Team and served as Chief Instructor for the FAA Part 107 Prep Course at Wake Technical Community College. Oversee SSI’s transportation and logistics operations (USDOT# 44•••65, MC# 17•••12, SCAC-SCHB), ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency across all service divisions.
