About Christopher K. Senkowski
Dr. Senkowski MD FACS has been a surgeon and educator since 1998. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Michigan in 1986, he received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1990. He did his general surgery residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC under the direction of Arthur Aufses Jr. MD. He then did Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital under direction of Joseph Civetta MD. This was followed by Trauma Fellowship at Ryder Trauma Center under direction of Stephen Cohn MD.He currently serves as the Inaugural Program Director for General Surgery Residency Program at Baptist Health South Florida in Miami,Fl. He is Professor of Surgery at Herbert Wertheim college of Medicine at Florida International University.His research focus concerns Health care policy and reimbursement. He is Chair of the ACS General Surgery Coding and Reimbursement committee and represents the ACS as an adviser to the AMA Relative Value Update Committee where RVU values are evaluated. He is currently on the ACS health policy advisory group and is a former ACS Governor. In the Value Based Healthcare world he has consulted with a number of national initiatives including the Acumen Macra Grouper episode project, the RWJ Healthcare values project, and has developed bundled payment software for Remedy Partners now Signify Health among others. He has 15 plus years expertise in the area of bundled payments and value based care. He also serves as a consultant to MGMA.
