ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CJ JANNETTE

CJ is a technologist, Veteran and Space Systems Engineer with two decades experience as an aerospace professional. BIOIn 2006 he joined the US Air Force as an integrated avionics specialist while attending courses in a wide range of topics in the evenings. Through his career he was stationed at supporting KC-10 operations in Northern California where he deployed to the UAE to support GWOT operations.2010 he transferred to Tokyo, Japan where he supported Air Mobility Command (AMC) operations in the pacific including support operations following the 2011 earthquake. For their work during the operation his unit was awarded the humanitarian medal. In 2012. After graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Applied Science in 2015 Chris was hired to as lead systems engineer and promoted to Chief Engineer in 2016 on a Norwegian-American launch vehicle startup called Ripple Aerospace on the Florida Space Coast. Late 2017 he was offered an opportunity to work at the cape with SpaceX as a contracted launch pad technician to return SLC-40 to operational status supporting the return to flight CRS mission before supporting final prep work at 39A the inaugural Falcon Heavy completing his contract in January 2018. Mid-2018, he founded United Frontiers to design high performance hypersonic sounding rockets for microgravity research where they explored elements of boost motor design, deployment and most importantly, vehicle design. 2020 the company completed a TRL-8 boost motor test at in Mojave, CA and completed a series of studies that lead to the question of \"prepositioned hypersonic in space\" the Blackstar was born. 2021 and with the covid economy and SPAC hangover locking available VC funding out United Frontiers closed operations. Mid-2021 another contracting opportunity at SpaceX. Chris worked at the Roberts Road project, before supporting NDE work on the mobile launch platforms and ultimately spent summer 2021 working in Cape Canaveral on all elements of TPS production where they performed R&D and manufacturing. In Fall 2021, Chris left the contracted SpaceX role to take a role as a Systems Engineer for NASA KSC KPLSS II program at Propellants South as a Test Conductor for hypergolic propellants for Cape Missions to include CRS, Crew Dragon, Axiom, Artemis 1, Intuitive Machines and Astrobotic. In 2022 he was promoted to lead engineer where he worked on programs throughout KSC/CCSFS.2024, he left NASA for Blackstar with a vision to redefine the possibilities of what spacecraft can do.
