ABOUT CHRISTOPHER J. PAPPAS
Board- Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon providing care in South Florida for more than 13 years. Dr. Pappas was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Northeast PA. He attended Binghamton University for undergraduate studies, graduating with honors. He completed his doctoral training in Podiatric Medicine in 2007 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. He graduated with honors as part of the Psi Delta National Podiatric Medicine Honor Society. His current certifications of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery include, Board Certification Foot Surgery, and Board Certification Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Pappas completed his 3-year surgical residency training at Memorial Regional Hospital South in Hollywood Florida in 2010. He served as chief resident his final year of residency, with emphasis on foot and ankle trauma, total ankle replacement, ankle arthroscopy, reconstructive soft tissue repair, and sports medicine. In 2010, Dr. Pappas joined the esteemed Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The group has been nationally ranked as one of the top orthopedic centers in the country, and ranked first in Florida for orthopedic services. His practice focuses on providing complete, comprehensive care for a range of foot and ankle disorders- with an emphasis on reconstructive and traumatic repair of the foot and ankle. He currently concentrates on incorporating regenerative medicine into his practice utilizing both operative and non-operative approaches. He has been studying the use of platelet-rich plasma and cell-based therapies in the treatment of a multitude of foot and ankle conditions, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, degenerative joint disease and cartilage restoration, fracture healing, and chronic wounds.
