As the Director of Software Engineering for the EDI Datacenter, I manage a global development engineering team (Seattle, WA; Burlington, VT; Bangalore, India) responsible for delivering cloud based solutions for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) which processes 649 million transactions, resulting in $235M business, generating $80M of revenue annually. The EDI Datacenter is a hosted, fully multi-tenant transactional platform that enables automated processing of Healthcare electronic transactions between connecting 2,100+ providers to 200+ payers. Transactions include Claims/Remits, Eligibility, Claims Status, and Referrals. In addition, other hosted cloud solutions include Host Claims Manager, Patient Responsibility Estimator, Propensity to Pay, Prior Authorization, Statements, Patient Payments, Denials and Rejection Management, Analytics and Dashboards. My Responsibilities include: • Develop, maintain, and support high-quality, valuable releases of cloud-based healthcare financial transaction software. This software is at the heart of innovation to delivering on the promise of value-based care to improve health outcomes in a cost-effective way. • Provide technical, people, and process leadership. • Staff and develop a Lean/Agile, full-stack, cloud-proficient software development team. • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver the valuable outcomes our customers desire. • Work with product managers and architects to develop software technology roadmaps. • Work with product owners, UX, and directly with customers to understand business and technical needs. • Ensure teams are aligned, with a rich understanding of customer/user context and value as well as an understanding of business models, key assumptions, strategies, and results. • Communicate effectively with leadership, providing transparency to the status, quality, and throughput of work through metrics and reviews. • Plan and manage budgets.
