About Christopher E. Smalls
I am a graduate student in clinical rehabilitation counseling at N.C. A&T State University and a rehabilitation professional with a background in leadership, vocational systems, mental health, ministry, and community engagement. My work focuses on supporting formerly incarcerated individuals and others with intellectual/physical disabilities and substance use disorders; emphasizing substance abuse prevention, relapse reduction, and recovery-oriented reentry services. I address post-incarceration syndrome, executive functioning challenges, and barriers to sustainable employment. I serve these individuals through trauma-informed counseling, individualized vocational planning, and coordinated clinical rehabilitation. Grounded in ethical practice and client self-determination, I integrate spiritual alignment in a non-coercive manner while helping individuals move toward stability, meaningful work, community reintegration, and long-term recovery.
