   In my present job my responsibility is to ensure that study plans / protocols are scientifically valid, data sets are fully scientifically interpreted, appropriate scientific and expert reports are compiled and/or reviewed and SOP’s relating to assays are scientifically valid. In addition, I am also mandated to establish collaborations with other institutions and assist the corporation in ensuring that the business stays up to date with current market technologies. As the department grows I also need to train and develop junior line managers and additional staff positions as required.My job scope also entails providing scientific expertise and advice to both internal and client-funded project teams to help ensure that company delivers the best possible scientific product. I also help the corporation to provide advice across the different divisions as wells as directly engage in scientific discussion with clients and collaborators.As the Director overseeing the Virology department I play scientific leadership role within translational research overseeing the scientific product of all work produced by the department and training, mentoring and supervising other division staff in scientific aspects. I am also directly involved in the development and validation of new methodologies as well as R&D endeavors both project managing the studies as well as overseeing and/or conducting the associated laboratory work. Furthermore, to assist in the scientific education of other staff as required and, as the department grows, to train and supervise Virologists.
