ABOUT CHRISTOPHER DALY

My work experience and skills are quite diversified; a licensed architect with over 30 years of experience, I am well versed in all aspects of historic preservation, architecture, design, planning, construction, facilities and property management, having managed architectural, engineering and construction project teams through all aspects of work and all types of building and infrastructure projects from start-to-finish. I have a thorough understanding of how to manage decision-making processes to result in positive outcomes. I am strategically minded, goal driven and detail oriented, providing project management expertise to positively impact the project schedule, budget, quality and outcome. I also have extensive experience and skill in strategic planning and building high performance cross-functional teams, and leading them in a collaborative planning, design and implementation process to meet the project’s goals and objectives and mitigate risk by balancing the competing demands of quality, scope, time and cost.As Director of Properties for the Preservation Society of Newport County, a non-profit and Rhode Island\'s largest and most-visited cultural organization, I oversee all preservation, restoration, construction, facility maintenance and operations of the Society’s 36 historic buildings and other cultural properties, while managing a $10M annual operations budget in addition to implementing 5-10 major capital projects annually. I lead an in-house team of over 100 people as well as managing outside vendors, contractors, consultants and architects, overseeing a standard of excellence for care across all buildings, consistently and successfully coordinating multiple restoration, construction, and ongoing maintenance projects. Previously, I have worked primarily as a Project Manager, either acting within the capacity of an Owner’s Project Representative or as a Construction Project Manager, typically working as an on-site consultant to colleges, universities, large corporations and municipalities, where I have planned, coordinated and managed multiple design and construction projects simultaneously as part of their in-house architecture and engineering, facility management, strategic planning and corporate real estate groups.
