About Christopher Cook

Christopher Cook is an author, award-winning journalist, editor, and communications consultant in San Francisco. He writes for a wide range of national media, including the Los Angeles Times, Harper\'s, The Atlantic, The Christian Science Monitor, The Guardian, Mother Jones, Columbia Journalism Review, and others. His first book, Diet for a Dead Planet: Big Business and the Coming Food Crisis, was widely acclaimed and went paperback. Christopher works as a consultant for numerous institutions, writing reports and white papers, editing manuscripts, conducting research, and designing communications and messaging strategies. His investigative reporting has won national awards, and appeared in Mother Jones, The Nation, The Economist, In These Times, and elsewhere. He is a longtime contributing writer for The Progressive. See his work at Christopher has also taught journalism at San Francisco State University and leads writing workshops and tutorials at the San Francisco Writers\' Grotto, where he has been a member for more than 20 years.
