ABOUT CHRISTOPHER COOK

I am a dedicated health professional with over a decade of experience, beginning in elite sports physiotherapy and transitioning into community wellbeing. My career started as a physiotherapist, working with both adult and academy athletes to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and facilitate recovery. In this role, I developed a holistic approach, focusing on everything from load management to nutrition and sleep, and thrived on creating supportive environments that enabled athletes to achieve their best. I also managed relationships within multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and shared objectives. In my current role within North East Lincolnshire Council’s Wellbeing Service, I bring that same holistic approach to supporting families in some of the UK’s most deprived areas. My focus is on reducing health inequalities by developing programs and resources that empower communities. This role has expanded my experience into project management, budget oversight, and partnership-building across schools, local government, and charities. By co-creating initiatives with experts and families, we engage communities directly and ensure each project resonates at a local level.I hold a First-Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Cumbria and am actively pursuing further CPD in public health to deepen my impact. I am passionate about closing the health gap and dedicated to creating lasting, positive change in communities.
