As counsel to insurance underwriters, I focus on transactional and renewable energy tax credit risks, helping evaluate complex issues in tax insurance. I also work closely with renewable developers, drafting tax opinions to support credit monetization strategies, including compliance with domestic content and prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. My insight into what underwriters need allows me to bridge the gap between developers and insurers, ensuring clarity and confidence on both sides.Building on my background in M&A tax due diligence, I have experience evaluating risks tied to complex transactions for the insurance markets. I also draft detailed tax opinions and memos directly for corporate and private equity clients on a broad spectrum of tax issues, from debt vs. equity analysis to cancellation of indebtedness income. These analyses provide clients with clear, defensible guidance for their tax positions post-transaction and support critical internal decision-making.Legal research and writing are at the heart of my work.
