About Christopher Clifford
I am a practicing board certified Emergency Medicine physician through the Medical Faculty Associates at George Washington University Hospital. I\'m trained in health policy and advocacy, and hold a Master\'s of Public Health in Health Policy. My specific interests include health security, hospital resilience, and emergency preparedness.I specialize in the design and implementation of public policy focusing on realistic outcomes that improve conditions for the frontline worker. I\'m focused on driving the U.S. healthcare system to evolve to be more resilient and responsive. My experiences have necessitated collaboration and coalition-building which are some of my greatest strengths. Whether working with diverse stakeholders in government agencies or mentoring young physicians in innovation and policy writing, I have been successful in policy change through collective effort and sustained advocacy.Additional work highlights include-I have authored over a dozen health policies for organized medicine associations, several focused on COVID-19 response and prevention, and received the Excellence in Health Policy Award from Mount Sinai Hospital for my contributions to U.S. health policy-I have developed and presented key policy recommendations on pandemic preparedness and biosecurity to political leaders at the White House, advancing national health security initiatives-My research publications, including a widely recognized study on COVID-19, have been cited by the CDC and PubMed Central in their practice guidelines-As an active peer reviewer for The American Journal of Emergency Medicine and an active voting delegate for the American College of Emergency Physicians, I continue to stay fully engaged with the physician community to inform and shape public health and security policies.
