ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CHAN
Having successfully achieving a First Class Master’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, I am currently an Engineer with Kier. Prior to university, I secured a sponsorship with Kier Group and attained a scholarship in academic excellence with Liverpool John Moore’s University. I graduated with an MEng and plan to achieve Chartership status with the ICE. Since finishing my GCSEs in 2014, I carried out summer placements with Kier Group with the Kier Professional Services team, developing my design skills in temporary works. This includes skills in AutoCAD, Google Sketchup & Microsoft Excel.I undertook an industrial placement with Kier Group residing in their Highways Structures division as a structural engineer. Hence my skills include, but are not limited to, structural analysis through use of hand calculations as well as software such as LUSAS & Autodesk Structural Bridge Design. I also had the opportunity to deliver a presentation to Highways England regarding a Value Management scheme for two bridge refurbishment schemes on the M5.
