ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CHOW BFE

Growing up Christopher had a staple diet of films and television, so in hindsight it\'s no surprise that he ended up working in this industry. During school holidays, he rented dozens of VHS and soaked up as many films as his mum could afford, and only once in a while she could find time to go to the cinema together. After graduating university, he went to the London Film Academy where he took a year intense course learning all aspects of filmmaking. This is where he truly discovered his passion for filmmaking and realised editing aligned perfectly with his scientific, technological mindset and his passion for storytelling. 17 years on, Christopher has edited several outstanding indie feature films. He was awarded Best Editing for the psychological horror Charismata at FilmQuest International Film Festival. His latest film Raging Grace, the first British Filipino feature film ever, written and directed by BIFA nominee Paris Zarcilla, had it\'s world premiere at SXSW and won Best Debut and was the first British film to win the Grand Jury Award since 2005. Very few editors have ever had the daunting challenge of editing an interactive film and Christopher has edited two, both directed by Paul Raschid (White Chamber). The Complex, written by Lynn Renee Maxcy (The Handmaid\'s Tale), released during the first lockdown and it quickly became the best selling interactive film of all time. The second is The Gallery which has a monster total runtime of five hours. His television credits include two episodes of Casualty for BBC, which was nominated for a TV BAFTA; Sky TV original mini-series Little Darlings, co-written by BAFTA nominee Nathan Bryon (Bloods) and it was nominated for a Broadcast Award; newly revamped 4th series of Bad Education, exec. produced by Jack Whitehall, it is now the most viewed comedy on BBC Three. Beyond editing, Christopher is a vocal advocate for greater diversity and inclusion in the industry. He founded BEAM Network which aims to connect and support British East and South East Asians working in media. As well as being a member of BAFTA, Christopher is also a member of British Film Editors, and he was nominated for Breakthrough Editor Award.
