This was a contract for a hydrographical survey in the North Sea. This job was a big change although encouraged the use of skills I had learnt with my previous company. Such skills as being able to multi task along with picking things up quickly. I had to complete my normal navigational watch along with completing line changes and ensuring we where within the distance allowed from the track and the correct speed. Other duties included all chart and publication corrections along with GMDSS responsibilities.
