ABOUT CHRISTOPHER BROWN

A proven and qualified subsea engineer with extensive experience across all areas of subsea engineering support operations, having been fast tracked through my professional Moduspec modules and assignments and S-Cap for subsea engineers, becoming one of the youngest fully qualified subsea supervisors for Transocean, leading international IBWM teams on rigs in Australia, Singapore and Indonesia. A self-starter and safe pair of hands with demonstrated professional competence across a range of critical subsea engineering capabilities, including project management, team leadership, equipment testing and maintenance, pressure testing, fault finding and rapid resolution, quality assurance, process and procedural development, staff and supplier training, riser and guideline tensioner management, HP Air system management,detailed report writing to provide confidence to senior management on the preparedness for future drilling operations. Used to working under pressure and to time critical deadlines, I build confidence in my team to ensure a culture of “no surprises”, aiming to avoid operational equipment failures in the field or ensuring that in the event of any fault arising, that planned and tested resolution actions can quickly be executed. As an ex-submariner in the Royal Navy a disciplined approach and “can do” attitude are natural personal qualities.From a technical perspective, I have worked on semi subs, jack ups, drill ships, with a wide knowledge of engineering experience across a range of equipment suppliers including Cameron, Hydril and Shaffer on both conventional and mux systems. I am currently looking for my next role to help progress my career, ideally in the subsea engineering sector, although the technical, management and personal skills I have developed over my career to date would be readily transferrable into on-shore operational exploration environments.
