   I teach SAFT 6805 - Safety Monitoring and Control (and Industrial Hygiene course) for the Graduate Program in Occupational Safety in the Department of Technology at East Carolina University. The course is described as \"Discovery, recognition, monitoring, and control of harmful agents in the workplace.\"Upon completion of SAFT 6805, the student will have the ability to: Identify, formulate, and solve broadly defined industrial hygiene problems by applying knowledge of industrial hygiene science and technical topics to industrial applications (Student Outcome 1). Explain the importance of occupational hygiene on modern occupational safety management practices. Design industrial hygiene sampling strategies for industrial toxicants (Student Outcome 2). Communicate health hazards to a wide range of audiences (Student Outcome 4). Select and apply applicable industrial hygiene standards to industrial operations. Select appropriate sampling and control strategies and work practices for a variety of hazardous conditions. Calibrate standard occupational hygiene equipment. Utilize standard occupational hygiene equipment. Synthesize sampling and analytical methods in occupational hygiene. Synthesize research on occupational toxicants.
