Verifies tax information entered into RITA\'S income tax system- Identifies and brings to the attention of the Quality Assurance Analyst errors or trends in the preparation, keying, processing or editing of municipal income tax returns- Calculates tax liability owed to municipality for delinquent individual and business accounts. Constructs calculation sheets detailing methods used to arrive at amount owed. Calculates penalty and interest charges for each account- Initiates correspondence with taxpayers and professional representatives to resolve unfulfilled obligations. Explains income tax rates, penalties, and interest rates as well as applicable ordinance as necessary. Documents all correspondence regarding account- Discusses the small claims court process and alternatives to legal action with taxpayers. Negotiates settlements for prejudgment accounts. Establishes payment plans for prejudgment and post-judgement accounts- Updates and maintains small claims court schedules for various courts. Ensures claims are initiated and completed in a timely manner.
