I focus my intellectual property legal practice primarily on litigation. Prior to joining Woodard Emhardt, I worked for a firm in Chicago assisting throughout all phases of the litigation process for clients both big and small. This included drafting briefs in support of and in opposition to motions, producing claim charts in preparation of Markman hearings, construing intrinsic patent evidence, and evaluating extrinsic scientific literature. In addition to litigation, I help clients through intellectual property portfolio management, including trademark registration, domain name acquisitions, drafting patent applications, prosecuting patent applications, post-grant proceedings. My experience also includes evaluating the patentability of invention disclosures in a variety of technology fields such as medical devices, varnishes, drones, and automated seating systems.
