Functions as the senior environmental manager with responsibility for installation-wide execution of the full spectrum of the Army Environmental Program (AEP). Supervise and provides professional engineering, physical science, and/or natural and cultural resources management services related to investigating, measuring, and evaluating environmental conditions. Oversees and manages special studies and projects related to pollution prevention, contamination cleanup, and environmental quality improvements.Major Accomplishments• Lead the effort to begin constructing an Endangered Species Act 7(a)(1) Conservation Initiative with the National Marine Fisheries Service. Created, briefed, and lead a Conservation Workshop which included the Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Geological Survey, US Navy, National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration, and Washington State Department of Fish and Game. This concept has never been undertaken; the goal was to begin creating conservation and mitigation crediting systems which while discretionary, would provide conservation credits to Joint Base Lewis-McChord that could be used to offset any future project in the Puget Sound.be used for projects in the Puget Sound or can be given to the US Navy for their projects.• Nominated to represent the Department of Defense as a member of the Puget Sound Federal Leadership Task Force by the Secretary of Defense. This task force was directed by law, as part of the 2023 National Defense Appropriations Act, to begin the process of looking at all possible authorities and mandates that could be utilized across the entire Puget Sound landscape to enhance the environmental baselines for multiple endangered and threatened species.
