Hunting for Heroes provides resources, including recreational therapy and counseling, to disabled law enforcement officers who were injured in the line of duty. Hunting for Heroes provides a hunting camp environment where disable police officers and their families can connect with others families that have suffered life-altering injuries.#Hunt4Hero-The National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund (NLEMF) states there are over law enforcement officers serving our communities every year. Their report indicates that 58,261 officers are assaulted every year. However, unlike our veterans returning from military service, there are no assistance options for these brave men and women. Once injured, they become a lost segment of our population and are a financial liability for their department.When they lose their job because of a work-related injury, it is often crippling physically, emotionally, financially, and professionally. They feel isolated from their fellow officers, and their families become overwhelmed trying to respond to their many needs.For many of the officers we work with, support from H4H is the difference between giving up and learning to live with their \"new normal\". The focus of H4H is: 1) suicide prevention2) keeping families together3) increasing PTSD awareness and early prevention Our Programs- Hero Wellness Retreats, all expense paid- VOWS Retreat for couples, all expense paid- PTSD Awareness and Education Outreach- Youth Wellness Retreats (in development)- PTSD Service Dog Program (in development)
