ABOUT CHRISTOPHER HECHT
Christopher\'s work focusses on applying machine learning, big data and other analytics tools on private and public charging processes, both controlled via a charging station as well as controlled through the vehicle. In this, he aims to optimise asset usage by understanding how users charge, what their preferences are and how the charging system can be tailored to their needs. With The Mobility House, the focus lies on maximising the flexibility that vehicles can provide to the electricity system. Tools to achieve this are improved user incentives, better technical utilisation of the vehicles\' capabilities, and improved electricity market interaction. With RWTH Aachen University, he focusses on public charging infrastructure and optimises both placement of new stations as well as utilisation of existing installations. Adjacent to these topics, he is also an expert in battery aging, cell chemistries and stationary storage systems. Given his experience with The Mobility House, RWTH Aachen University, and others, he has expertise in software development and agile working structures. Christopher previously worked for the management consultancy Pöyry (now AFRY) where he focussed on CAPEX/OPEX projection for power and gas grid assets, power grid and power market modelling, and wind energy tenders. He obtained his Master\'s degree in Renewable Energy and Power Systems Management at City, University of London, UK and his Bachelor\'s degree in Advanced Technology at the University of Twente, NL. During his education, he had smaller roles with Fraunhofer ISI and IWES (now IEE).
