ABOUT CHRISTOPHE J. PACCARD

Born and raised in a small village in the French Alps, I grew up in a family of five. In 1997, after completing my bachelor’s degree in hospitality, I moved to London to improve my English and expand my skills in luxury service. Driven by the pursuit of the American dream, I arrived in New York in and soon settled in Washington, DC, to further my career. After nine years of perseverance, I proudly received my green card in 2012.In 2007, I met my husband, Thom, a Foreign Service Officer, and began an extraordinary journey as an Eligible Family Member (EFM) in the Foreign Service community. I first served as an Office Management Assistant (OMA) for the Regional Security Office in Mauritius before taking on the role of Community Liaison Officer (CLO) in Venezuela in 2012. I became a U.S. citizen in 2014, continuing as a CLO in Iceland, Algiers, and finally Jerusalem, each post deepening my commitment to supporting our embassy communities. With a background in hospitality, I strive to bring world-class customer service to every position I fill, spreading a positive attitude and uplifting those around me. Making people happy and building morale has always been my calling. My focus is on creating a supportive environment for every member of the embassy community—a place where we can all learn, grow, and share in each other’s experiences. We are in each country for a brief moment, and I am determined to ensure that everyone has the chance to explore, appreciate, and enjoy the rich culture and history that each unique location offers, like the profound heritage of Algeria.Today, I am back in Washington, DC, serving as a Civil Service employee in the Protocol Office—the very office I aspired to join when I first arrived in the U.S. My journey has been marked by resilience, learning, and a deep passion for service, and I am grateful for every experience that brought me to this point.
