He prides himself on of identifying new technology trends and producing production technology. He has 3 times had a documented benefit of >$1 billion on the industry.(Making RTM practical by speeding up FD/RTM (SEAM), Imaging GOM subsalt that led to sales of >$700 million, improving land seismic acquisition for scattering noise, reflection tomography for PSDM)He was one of the first people to develop MVA tomography for depth migration, he was one of the early developers of the ProMAX seismic data processing system, he built one of the first maximum energy travel time solvers for Kirchhoff depth migration, he was one of the first to develop WEM migration, he was one of the first to pursue HPC on massive PC clusters, and a leader in showing how to speed up FD propagation for RTM/FWI by 10x. Christof has been involved in 5 previous entrepreneurial ventures, of which 4 1/2 were successful. Christof has been involved in 8 mergers and wishes for more stability.
