   Well hello LinkedIn, it\'s been a while! It\'s about time for a Scraps update. We started out in 2017 with a trike, a bike, a few bins & a big dream to make composting widespread (\"and dare we say cool\") in Denver. We provided a carbon-negative solution for residents of apartments and condos specifically, who were falling through the cracks and had no compost pickup service options at all. Along the way, we picked up restaurants, offices, and all sorts of other commercial members who were also falling through the cracks for various reasons - e.g, they shared a commercial building with other tenants & a landlord who didn\'t want composting, they didn\'t have room for a large compost bin, they couldn\'t find a way to service just their office in a 14-story building, etc. And so along that way, we adapted solutions for these folks as well.Four years in, and we\'ve grown to more than 1400 members across the Denver area, and moved beyond just apartments, condos and small businesses to entire apartment buildings, HOAs, office buildings, and even entire municipalities.(We see you, City of Edgewater!) And, bittersweet though it may be, we hit a ceiling on what we could do with pedal power, and we\'ve since grown into a fleet of vans, trucks, and now (any day now!) our first rear-loader truck. We have a full-time team of four, plus part-timers, and more job openings coming online on a regular basis - stay tuned. We\'ve seen this crazy idea turn into a small industry, and we\'re thrilled to see so many new companies & competitors trying to figure out the problem of organics recycling. And as of June 2021, we\'re thrilled to share that we\'ve ticked over the pound mark for our total amount of compostable material diverted from the landfill since we began Scraps in 2017. So much ground gained, and still so far to go!
