Lead cross functional teams to develop category strategies to achieve total cost reductions. Create strategic sourcing plans to ensure value is achieved through a systematic approach for packaging categories and direct/indirect material spend. Execute RFPs and negotiate supply agreements that deliver the maximum supplier value, minimal total costs and reduced supply risk. Work with global and regional purchasing teams to identify and implement global purchasing opportunities that provide optimal synergies. Support new/alternate product launches and Supply Chain projects. Manage suppliers to ensure technical, quality, production and timing requirements are met. Develop a clear understanding of market forces and cost reduction strategies to meet annual cost savings targets. Forecast and manage category inflation. Ensure that supplier quality expectations are met via partnering with quality/engineering to develop proper product specifications/supplier quality systems.
