ABOUT CHRISTINE CLARINGBOLD
I\'m a co-founder, past president and past treasurer of Dana Thompson Memorial Fund of Awesome (DTMFA), a 501(c)3 whose mission is to equip Black youth to experiment and develop their artistic confidence.I\'m an artist with a psychedelic home that was part of the Portland Weird Homes Tour.I graduated from Portland State University\'s Urban Honors College in June 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with a focus on fiction, and a Bachelor of Arts in World Languages: German.In summer 2017 I studied at Freie Universität Berlin in Berlin, Germany, as a recipient of the Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad. My poetry has appeared in the feminist literary journal So To Speak and in PSU\'s student journal Pathos.I worked as an On-Call Advocate for Call to Safety (formerly Portland Women\'s Crisis Line) from 20••••17 and as Shelter Relief Staff for Clackamas Women\'s Services (2020). In addition to my role at DTMFA, I have volunteered for: Rock \'N Roll Camp for Girls, Liberation Rock Camp, Oregon Country Fair, and Equitable Giving Circle.Former DJ host of Verbal Slam Dancing on Freeform Portland and The House of Sarcasm on KPSU.
