Summary:As a scenario desk underwriter, I am responsible for providing accurate, expeditious, and friendly guideline clarification to our sales teams for our wholesale, joint venture, direct-to-consumer, and direct-to-broker channels. I am a detail-oriented critical thinker who takes the initiative as well as works with others to efficiently and effectively meet turn times to maintain customer satisfaction. We are a team that is the central point of contact for our sales partners by providing a thorough understanding of product/policy guidelines and the ability clearly articulate the interpretation of the guidelines. This guidance ranges from answering scenario questions, providing investor-specific guidelines, reviewing documentation prior to loan submission, and providing income calculations.Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to- Daily loan support for our sales partners via our ticketing system as well as phone calls for underwriting/loan scenario-based questions- Research and respond to guideline inquiries providing the highest level of support- Assist in interpreting loan eligibility and lending guidelines- Analyzing various underwriting scenarios and suggesting potential alternative options with different investors- Review and analyze complex income documentation, including personal and business tax returns, and provide calculations to be used for qualifying- Collaborate with team members and work effectively in a team-oriented environment and open communication amongst other department managers and AVP\'s - Maintaining a strong focus, continued growth, and continued learning essential underwriting knowledge- Assist with other responsibilities and projects as identified by management.
