As Executive Director of a regional public foundation advancing gender, racial, and economic justice, I lead the organization’s vision, strategy, operations, and fundraising. My leadership has driven transformational growth, expanded community-led philanthropy, and elevated our impact across Southeastern Massachusetts.Key achievements:• Developed and launched WFSC’s first 5-year strategic plan, aligning equity-centered goals with sustainable growth.• Oversaw organizational redesign—professionalizing finance, restructuring staff roles, and improving internal systems.• Secured over $1M in new and renewed funding over two years, including multi-year national grants and WFSC’s first multi-year donor campaign.• Designed and launched the Young Women’s Initiative (YWI): a youth-led leadership, advocacy, and grantmaking program for girls and gender-expansive youth of color.• Guided YWI’s inaugural youth-led grant process, awarding $20K to New Bedford organizations identified by youth as addressing critical equity gaps.• Strengthened annual grantmaking with a participatory approach, increasing access and funding to BIPOC-led and grassroots organizations.• Co-launched a regional research partnership with UMass Boston to produce equity data tools that guide funding and policy.• Elevated public visibility and policy alignment • Deepened governance through board succession, realigned committees, and launched the Bettina Borders Leadership Circle for major donors and founding leaders.I serve as the Fund’s primary spokesperson, advocate, and strategist—ensuring our work is bold, inclusive, and community-driven.
