Chris specializes in representing a variety businesses with their transactional, compliance, and policy needs and often acts as outside general counsel for her clients. Chris co-chairs the firm\'s tribal team, providing experienced legal counsel to Native American tribes and organizations on gaming, cannabis, liquor, tax, financing, and economic development issues and helping navigate state and federal government agencies. She has been on the forefront of legal developments for Washington tribes, including the nation\'s first tribal cannabis compact legislation and resulting compacts and Washington\'s sports wagering law and inaugural sports wagering compacts. She has been recognized by various publications for her work, inclduing by The Best Lawyers in America (Seattle, WA) as gaming lawyer of the year in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2023, and Native American law lawyer of the year in 2018 and 2024. In addition to sports wagering-related work, Chris has worked with sports-related businesses, including professional sports franchises, wellness products, and other businesses, on transactional matters, DEI initiatives, liquor licensing, ticketing issues, and legislative matters, among others. Chris also represents licensed cannabis businesses and adjacent businesses with their compliance and transactional needs. Chris leads a deep team that assists with formation, acquisition, capital raising, leasing, service agreements, tax, intellectual property protection and licensing, branding, marketing, and advertising compliant with state law and federal enforcement priorities. Chris has been involved in extensive legislative and rulemaking efforts and is recognized as a \"Leader in Their Field\" by Chambers USA for cannabis law.
