Support students to excel academically and socially by consistently promoting and implementing innovative practices to increase social-emotional skill development, using a trauma focused lens.Provide individual and group counseling with a focus on the therapeutic relationship, by utilizing trauma informed practices, behavior modification, as well as other evidence-based interventions to remove barriers to academic excellence for high needs children and families. Provide push-ins to support students as well as teachers with classroom structure and management, assist with FBAs, implementation of BIPs, as well as effectively provide crisis intervention and de-escalation. Developed and implemented an afterschool program for students in temporary housing to decrease the achievement gap between this population and permanently housed students.Implement and coordinate attendance assemblies, as well as creative and effective attendance interventions, focusing on the relationship with the student and family.My practice is driven by the unwavering belief that all children are capable of success. My interventions and advocacy are geared toward removing or mitigating any barriers to student success, and by helping children develop the social-emotional skills necessary to academic success.
