ABOUT CHRISTINA MACKAY

I have had the privilege of establishing and growing the ESG and Social Value capability at Hitachi Solutions Europe, shaping it from the ground up into a strategic function that is now embedded across the organisation. What began as a small CSR remit has evolved into a connected, enterprise wide approach that influences how we think, plan and deliver as teams and as a business.I must say I am at my best when I am building something that does not yet exist. I enjoy learning the landscape, understanding where a business is starting from, spotting opportunities for meaningful impact, and then creating the strategy, frameworks and governance needed to make that impact sustainable and credible over time. Much of my work is about connecting people and teams, helping them see that social impact, equity and sustainability are not separate agendas but part of good, responsible business, and often a commercial lever forgotten about. I am at heart a visionary and intuitive thinker. I often have a strong sense of how something should look or feel before the full route is mapped out, and I am determined in working through the detail to make that vision achievable. Being neurodivergent with ADHD shapes that approach. It helps me spot patterns, connections and opportunities quickly, while staying focused on long term, meaningful change in complex and evolving environments.I care deeply about building responsible businesses that create lasting social value. I bring warmth, curiosity and determination to my work, and I am driven by the belief that with the right strategy, governance and collaboration, organisations can make a genuine and positive difference to the communities they serve.All views are my own and do not relate to a business or organisation.
