Christina recently joined the Marketing team at Virginia ABC, bringing a fresh perspective and creative mindset to the authority. She has a dynamic background in promotions, marketing, community engagement, leadership, sales, and development and is a Certified Wedding & Event Planner (CWEP).Before her time with the Virginia ABC, Christina was the Vice President, Entertainment for the Akron RubberDucks, Double-A Affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. She returned to Minor League Baseball and the Akron senior leadership team after previously helping to usher in the new identity and vision of the RubberDucks during the 2014 season as Director of Promotions.Prior to rejoining the RubberDucks, Christina was the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Lighthouse Labs, a nationally ranked startup accelerator in Richmond, VA, where she increased corporate partnerships by 400%, oversaw development and fundraising launching the $3M Fund A Founder campaign, as well as elevated all events for the organization. Before her time with Lighthouse Labs, Christina was the Senior Development Manager for the Virginia Chapter of JDRF. She managed staff and events across the state, including the annual Richmond Gala where she raised a total of $3.9 million for type 1 diabetes research over four years, and oversaw a record breaking year in 2020 raising more than to working in the non-profit sector, Christina spent almost a decade in the sports world, working for elite teams in Minor League Baseball. She brought baseball back to Richmond and helped launch the Flying Squirrels. She rebuilt a successful entertainment venue, impacting the community with appearances and events and bringing The Diamond to life again as the on-field personality.Christina also helped revamp her hometown baseball team in Ohio, the Akron RubberDucks. The community embraced the new identity of the team and the RubberDucks were nominated for the Larry McPhail Award under her leadership, one of Minor League Baseball’s top four end-of-seasonaccomplishments, which honors a team for outstanding promotional and community efforts.With an entrepreneurial spirit and passion, Christina founded her own event planning business, A Pop of Color Events, where she focuses on upscale social gatherings and luxe celebrations, including consultation for the non-profit sector.
