Peabody Award-winner and Emmy-nominated executive Christina Fon is the VP of Strategic Partnerships & Scripted Content at Shaftesbury, an award-winning creator and producer of content for television. With over 27 years of experience as a media professional, Fon has dedicated her career to helping creators tell stories that inspire, influence, and entertain audiences around the world. At Shaftesbury, Fon oversees the set-up of scripted projects while supporting the company’s sales strategy and presence at key international markets. Working closely with President & Chairman Christina Jennings, Fon helps identify and package projects, build relationships with broadcasters, platforms, and international partners, and position Shaftesbury’s slate for the global marketplace. The role bridges creative development and business strategy, all the while collaborating with creators and production teams to bring new series to market and expanding partnership opportunities through key industry markets and events. Previously, Fon served as Executive Producer of the Crave/APTN/Fremantle Original series, Little Bird (PBS). Fon has negotiated successful production deals and orchestrated the greenlight on several projects that have marked the landscape of the global television industry and the big screen including, Mohawk Girls (NBC’s Peacock), RUMBLE: the Indians Who Rocked the World (Netflix) and Reel Injun, now in the Academy Museum in LA. Fon\'s contributions to the industry have earned her several accolades, including the esteemed Sundance Award, multiple Canadian Screen Awards as well as a 2020 Emmy nomination.Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Christina is of Hungarian-Jewish heritage and is the daughter of Holocaust survivors. Her unique background informs her passion for storytelling that resonates across cultures and borders.
