ABOUT CHRISTINA SHERMAN

Christina is currently one of the Mathematics Consultants/Coaches at Hamilton County ESC and spends most of her days working collaboratively with K-12 teachers in their classrooms. She has been an Instructional Coach with HCESC since 2004. Prior to her work at the ESC, Christina taught high school mathematics at her alma mater, Fairfield High School in Butler County. Christina is a Past-President of the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has been an active participant in the Ohio Mathematics Education Leadership Council, Southwest Ohio’s Council of Teachers of Mathematics, ODEW’s Model Curriculum Writing Team for Gr 6-8 Statistics & Probability, OGT Content Advisory Committee, Standards Review Advisory Committee, Ohio Resource Center Math Review Board, Cincy Math Teachers’ Circle, and Ohio Math/Science Supervisors Committee. In addition, she has been selected as a speaker at Annual Conferences of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Christina earned her Bachelor of Science with a Major in Mathematics from Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA), Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics from Miami University (Oxford, OH), and Administrator Licensure from Concordia University (Chicago, IL). Christina believes everyone is a math person. She loves learning alongside students and hearing how students think. She works hard to build capacity in students as problem-solvers, not \"doers of math.\" Beyond her love for mathematics and learning, Christina loves spending time with friends & family, hiking, biking, and listening to music (especially live).
