ABOUT CHRISTINA LAUN FUGATE

I have been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers® in America for litigation and a “Legal Eagle” by the leading industry publication, Franchise Times. I lead Ice Miller LLP’s franchise practice. I help clients determine whether franchising is the right business model to grow their brand. I help franchisors prepare their franchise disclosure documents, comply with state and federal franchise and business opportunity laws, and navigate the franchisor-franchisee relationship. On the franchisee side, I help clients navigate through their decision to invest into a franchise as a franchisee. In addition to leading my firm’s franchise practice, I am national litigation counsel for several clients. I regularly defend Fortune 500 manufacturers, distributors and retailers across the country against general commercial litigation, product liability, mass tort exposure and general contract claims. Additionally, I work closely with our real estate group to resolve various real estate disputes, such as purchase agreement disputes, landlord-tenant (eviction) issues, foreclosures, and quiet title actions. I also act as general outside counsel to many clients. In addition to my law practice, I am also a Board Member at Road America, Inc, one of the world’s finest motorsports road courses located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Road America hosts races in the IndyCar series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, IMSA, among others. I am a proud Butler University Bulldog. I am a former leader of Butler’s Central Indiana Alumni Community and I am currently a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Butler University’s Lacy School of Business. I am also a founding board member of the NIL charitable organization, All Good Dawgs. I am also very active in the Indianapolis community. In 2020, I was the recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. I am a former recipient of Junior Achievement\'s Best & Brightest award. I am a former member of the IndyCREW Board of Directors, currently Secretary of Project 44, Inc, Past-President of Heritage Place of Indianapolis, Inc, and currently serving on the Junior Competition Committee of the United State Tennis Association, Midwest Section. I am an avid tennis player and runner. I frequently compete in USTA leagues and I have run over 20 half marathons.
