ABOUT CHRISTINA GROTHEER
Words are my passion. I\'ve worked in financial services on the word side of the industry for almost 24 years, and I love it! I started out in marketing in the late 1990s, not even knowing what a Pantone color was. The person who hired me knew I could write, and said he would teach me the rest. Which he did. And I thrived. After a relocation and some years freelancing when my kids were tiny, I spent almost 10 years editing sell-side research. This further honed my attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure — especially during earnings season.Fast forward to a 2017 merger and a decimated editing department. As I put together cover letters, I found myself thoroughly enjoying writing them, tweaking every word until I had it just right. This was a light bulb moment. I realized how much I missed the creative process and was thrilled to land a communications job that allowed me to return to generating content.That\'s where I am today, at Edelman Financial Engines. Our mission is to help hardworking Americans secure their financial future. Knowing that my efforts in the office play a part is what gets me out of bed each morning. We are changing peoples\' lives and I am proud to be part of it.#WeHelpPeople
