ABOUT CHRISTINA COSTELO

I\'m passionate about developing evidence-based mindfulness programs that create lasting pro-social community impact. As Executive Program Director at Mindfulness First, I lead program development and strategic growth initiatives that bring accessible and relatable mindfulness-based life skills to schools and communities. I\'m also the co-owner of Legends Arcade alongside my husband - our way of giving back by providing a fun, safe, and engaging community space in downtown Olympia.My path has taken me through 15+ years in education and mindfulness organizations, a brief stint in tourism marketing, and now into both nonprofit leadership and entrepreneurship. With me in all roles, I bring an eye for efficiency and harmony to every detail and every big decision. When I care about a mission, I\'m a passionate advocate.I\'ve been fortunate to spend a meaningful decade developing and teaching mindfulness programs for educators and students of all ages, and before that taught literacy curriculum and assessed after-school program quality in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a Master\'s in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz, where I studied the psychosocial effects of mixed race identity formation in Gen Z.And just for fun - my first job was as a skating rink snack bar attendant, and yes, I got a lot of free nachos.
