ABOUT CHRISTINA BERLANDA

I’m an experienced leader and RN with over 20 years in healthcare. I have a Master\'s of Nursing in Advanced Practice Leadership. I have worked in surgery, hospice palliative care, medicine, clinical operations, and professional practice. In my role as a clinical nurse leader, I was responsible for overseeing patient care and ensuring our team provided the highest level of care to our patients. As a professional practice consultant, I developed and implemented policies and initiatives to improve collaborative care, patient outcomes and safety. I’ve been a manager for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer, and for inpatient medicine and surgery. In these roles, I gained valuable experience managing teams, working with partners, advancing interprofessional care, and overseeing day-to-day operations. I am skilled in leading and implementing quality improvement initiatives, and working closely with staff to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies to address them, and ensuring initiatives are evidence-based and align with best practices in healthcare. Currently, I serve as the Director of Professional Practice. In this role, I lead a regional team and the development and implementation of professional practice initiatives to promote evidence-based practice, quality learning and practice environments and support the ongoing professional development of our staff. I have established strong relationships with our partner organizations, ministries and our local post-secondary institutions. I collaborate with these partners to identify opportunities for knowledge translation, develop innovative solutions to challenges facing healthcare, and ensure our organization is aligned with strategic priorities and initiatives. My experience in working with various partners in the healthcare has allowed me to develop strong skills in strategic partnerships, collaboration, and health systems leadership. I am passionate about improving care outcomes, patient and staff experience, and am committed to continuing to advance quality practice and learning initiatives in healthcare, while fostering trusting authentic relationships with our partners and working together to improve the healthcare system for our patients staff and students. I’m a dedicated and passionate healthcare professional, nursing and practice leader with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care and leading teams to success.
